Frequently Asked Questions
The tiers are sized by usable seated capacity, not by raw tent square footage. The Small Gathering seats up to 16 under a 10×20 — perfect for an intimate party. Tier A seats up to 25 comfortably with room for a buffet or a small dance area. Tier B seats 50 with a real dance floor inside the 30×30 footprint or a buffet-and-ceremony-aisle setup inside the 20×30. Tier C seats 75 with room for a dance floor and a head table. If your guest count is on a tier line (26, 51, 76), we round up — the next tier feels right at the event, the lower tier feels tight.
Most NJ towns require a permit for event tents depending on size and local ordinance, and permit assistance is included with every Tent Package booking. Tell us your event address at quote and we'll confirm the specific town requirement and handle the paperwork side. Tents installed on grass, driveways, and pavement all clear the standard permit process — what matters is the size and the town, not the surface.
A 30×30 frame tent needs roughly 32×32 of clear ground for the frame plus stake clearance, no overhead obstructions, and a reasonably level surface (a 6–10 inch grade is workable; steeper than that we'll talk through at quote). Send a photo of the yard and a rough measurement when you request a quote; the team flags any issue before delivery day instead of finding it on the morning of. For yards that won't fit a 30×30, Tier B works on a 20×30 footprint, which fits most NJ residential lots.
The Tent Package is priced as a matched bundle, so swapping pieces out lowers the value of the bundling. If you only need the tent, that's a Party Rentals item booking — quoted separately at the Tents item-page rate. If you want the tent plus tables but not the chairs (or vice versa), we'll quote the mix at the item-page rates rather than the package rate. Most clients find the package price is the easier path; the bundling does the work.
For May–June (graduation season) and September–October (fall wedding peak), 4 to 6 weeks ahead is the right window — the calendar tightens fast in those months and Tier C (30×30) is the first tier to sell out. For dates outside the peaks, 2 to 4 weeks is usually fine. For weddings, book whenever the date is locked, even if it's months out — Saturdays in peak season fill earliest. For last-minute requests, call us; we'll be honest about whether the date is workable.
